UFV New Democrats

For decades, government after government, Liberal and Conservative alike, retreated from their obligation to fund the public universities working families depend on, while handing billions in hard-earned tax dollars to the corporations driving up the cost of everything.

Average tuition has risen more than five times over the last thirty-five years. Cuts to the International Student Program handed UFV a $20 million deficit and resulted in the firing of 45 faculty members. Student debt has become a defining feature of young adulthood, not because it had to be, but because both parties made deliberate choices about whose interests to serve, and it wasn’t yours.

UFV New Democrats is organizing on campus in Abbotsford to build that power again. Students have the most to lose from the fights we’re in and the most to gain from winning them.
